Porsche 914

In the shop this week: This sweet 1973 Porsche 914 1.7L. Our customer brought this In for some much needed maintenance and repair. The car was having issues starting and running rough. After discussing the symptoms with our customer, we knew right away that the ignition switch and ignition coil needed to be inspected tested. We tested the ignition coil with a multi meter and it was producing over four times the resistance it should have been on the terminals and plug wire terminal. We then pulled the ignition switch and sure enough, a big crack down the side. We replaced those with new plug wires, breather and vacuum hoses. Now this Porsche fires up on the first crank every time.
