1972 BMW 2002 – Mechanical Restoration

Classic European cars carry a timeless appeal that modern vehicles simply cannot replicate on the road. Recently, a stunning vintage E10 BMW 2002 arrived at our shop looking for professional care and attention.

The proud owner recently purchased this classic beauty from California. However, it arrived running quite rough and needed immediate mechanical intervention. Fortunately, our expert team at Meister Werks loves breathing new life into legendary vintage imports.

Comprehensive Tune-Up and Engine Care

To address the rough idle, our technicians performed a thorough diagnostic scan on the onboard system. We discovered several components needing urgent attention under the hood.

First, we scheduled a complete ignition tune-up. This comprehensive service includes new OES-Bosch spark plugs, a fresh spark plug wire kit, ignition points, an ignition cap, and a rotor. Additionally, we are replacing the mechanical fuel pump, intake manifold gaskets, and fuel hoses to ensure proper air-fuel delivery.

Suspension Refresh and Ride Quality

This classic E10 BMW 2002 is also receiving a complete suspension overhaul to improve handling. We are installing Bilstein B6 performance front struts and rear shock absorbers. New Genuine BMW front and rear coil springs combined with fresh rubber isolator pads will fully restore factory ride quality.

Furthermore, our team is upgrading the transmission mounts, flex disc, and servicing the rear differential with fresh gear oil.

Exterior Restoration and Body Badging

Restoring a vintage classic requires meticulous attention to exterior details as well. The car is receiving fresh front and rear chrome bumpers, brand-new exterior body badging, and genuine hood and rear roundels.

Additionally, we are installing European tail light lenses with orange centers, sealing gaskets, belt-line body trim, and side knee moldings.

Interior Comfort and Final Touches

Inside the cabin, we are refreshing both front seats and the rear bench seat with added support material and new upholstery foam insulation. We are also installing a custom center console made in house at Meister Werks. We are also installing a vintage shifter knob and a new hazard light switch for the center console. To wrap up the interior, we installed a custom carpet kit to give the interior a fresh new feel.
